Boohoo’s Broken Promises

In 2020, fast fashion giant Boohoo faced serious criticism for poor working conditions at its suppliers as the company relentlessly chased profits. Boohoo said it would change. A Panorama investigation reveals renewed pressure to slash costs, suppliers facing shorter deadlines, and price cuts on orders for clothes that have already been made.

The investigation also reveals that Boohoo’s flagship Leicester factory, set up to showcase ethical end-to-end garment production in the UK, has sent orders to other factories – including seven in Morocco. Boohoo says it has spent significant time, effort and resource driving positive change across its business and supply chain.
